51 Filipino Professionals Take Oath at Alagang OWWA Caravan in Taipei

MARCH 17, 2026 – Fifty-one Filipino professionals in Taiwan took their oath in a ceremony held during the Alagang OWWA Caravan. The event was held on Sunday, March 15, at the OWWA Global Center, located in Chang Hong New Era Building, Neihu District, Taipei City.

Labor Attaché Atty. Alejandro A. Padaen of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Taipei administered the oath. The newly-licensed professionals included nurses, teachers, and registered electrical engineers.

Filipino Professionals in Taiwan Take Official Oath

At the ceremony, OWWA Deputy Administrator Atty. Jasmine Ann B. Gapatan served as the keynote speaker, based on this news report from the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO).

In her speech, Atty. Gapatan recognized the dedication and sacrifices Filipino workers abroad. She also conveyed the importance of continuing professional growth.

The President of the United Filipino Educators Alliance in Taiwan, Ms. Jessie Silva, also delivered a message. She talked about her experiences as a teacher in Taiwan, as well as the strengths of Filipino professionals.

For its part, MECO expressed its appreciation to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for its continuing partnership. Notably, the event marks the Commission’s first-ever oath-taking ceremony in Taiwan.

The oath-taking ceremony was organized through the joint coordination of MECO, MWO Taipei, PRC, and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). It was part of the Alagang OWWA Caravan, which facilitates different government services to OFWs in Taiwan.

Held from March 15-18, 2026, the Alagang OWWA Caravan delivers programs and services from various agencies, such as: OWWA, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Pag-IBIG, the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), the Social Security System (SSS), the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), and many more.
