Students planning to take up Bachelor of Science (BS) in Statistics, BS in Applied Statistics, or similar programs identified by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) may apply for the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Scholarship Program for Future Statisticians (Estatistikolar).
This program seeks to address the shortage of statisticians and data scientists in the Philippines. Scholars can study in State/Local Universities and Colleges (SUCs/LUCs) or private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that offer the said programs.

Program Benefits
The Scholarship Program for Future Statisticians or Estatistikolar covers tuition and other school fees, a stipend, and book/connectivity allowance for qualified students enrolled in SUCs/LUCs and private HEIs.
SUCs/LUCs
Students enrolled in SUCs/LUCs are entitled to free tuition and other school fees, based on R.A. 10931 or the Free Higher Education Act. They will also receive a stipend of PHP 70,000 per academic year (PHP 35,000 per semester), and a book/connectivity allowance amounting to PHP 10,000 per academic year (PHP 5,000 per semester).
Private HEIs
Likewise, students enrolled in private HEIs will also receive a stipend of PHP 70,000 and a book/connectivity allowance worth PHP 10,000 per academic year. Per semester, these amounts correspond to PHP 35,000 and PHP 5,000 respectively.
As for tuition and school fees, students in private HEIs will receive up to PHP 40,000 per academic year, or PHP 20,000 per semester.
Eligibility
To qualify for the Estatistikolar program, an applicant must:
- Be a Filipino citizen;
- Be a graduate of a Senior High School in the Philippines with a minimum General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or its equivalent;
- For second- to fourth-year college students, a minimum GWA of 80% or its equivalent; and
- Have parents or legal guardian(s) whose combined annual gross income does not exceed PHP 500,000.
Requirements
Interested applicants need to prepare the following documentary requirements:
- Accomplished Estatistikolar Application Form;
- Copy of Birth Certificate issued by the PSA;
- For Senior High School graduates, a Certified True Copy (CTC) of Form 138 [Learner’s Progress Report card of School Form 9 (SF9)] duly signed by the registrar or an authorized representative of the school attended;
- For second- to fourth-year college students, a CTC of Grades form last semester attended;
- Any one (1) of the following as proof of income: (a) Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or legal guardian; (b) Certificate of Tax Exemption/Non-Filer issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR); (c) CTC of the latest contract or proof of income for children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Seafarers; OR (d) Social Case Study Report issued by the City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (C/MSWD).
- Other Requirements (if applicable): (a) Applicant’s PWD ID issued by C/MSWD or Certification issued by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO); (b) Solo Parent ID of applicant or his/her parent issued by the C/MSWD; (c) Applicant’s Senior Citizen ID issued by the C/MSWD; (d) Certification issued by Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) or C/MSWD to Underprivileged and Homeless families; (e) Social Case Study Report issued by C/MSWD covered under Magna Carta for the Poor and/or First-Generation Students; OR (f) Certification issued by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) to indigenous people; and
- Notarized Certificate of Guardianship issued by the legal guardian of the student-applicant (if applicable).
