OWWA BARMM Regional Welfare Office (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao)

From north to south of the Philippines, OWWA has established regional offices, to better serve OFWs and their families all over the country. One of its Regional Welfare Offices (RWOs) is located in Cotabato City, serving the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Situated in the southwestern part of Mindanao, BARMM consists of five provinces: Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, and Tawi-Tawi. It also includes a Special Geographic Area (SGA) covering 63 barangays in Cotabato. Notably, the province of Sulu was de facto part of the region from 2019 to 2024; hence, there’s a satellite office here that operates under OWWA RWO BARMM.

OWWA RWO BARMM Joins Marawi City’s 86th Charter Day Celebration

From August 19-23, 2026, OWWA RWO BARMM joined the 86th Charter Day Celebration of Marawi City in Lanao del Sur, featuring a dedicated exhibit and providing on-site assistance to OFWs and their families. During the celebration, staff provided information on OWWA’s programs, while also facilitating access to various assistance and services.

Notably, one of the event’s highlights was the release of financial assistance to 30 distressed OFWs and their families; a total of PHP 445,000 was given as aid during times of need. Meanwhile, six students formally signed their scholarship documents; they are officially OWWA scholars under the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) and the Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP).

For OFWs and their families in BARMM, access to various programs and services is just within reach, thanks to OWWA’s regional office and satellite offices in the region. One such service is the OFW Enterprise Development and Loan Program (EDLP), which provides support to returning as well as repatriated OFWs. Read this article to learn more about it.
