The acronym “MIMAROPA” stands for the provinces that make up Region 4B or the Southwestern Tagalog Region: Mindoro (Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro), Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. Up until 2002, these provinces used to be part of the Southern Tagalog Region, before it was divided into CALABARZON (Region 4A) and MIMAROPA (Region 4B).
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Regional Welfare Office (RWO) 4B main office is located in Metro Manila. From there, it oversees five satellite or field offices in each province, bringing the agency’s programs and services closer to OFWs and their families who are based in the Southwestern Tagalog Region.

Video: OWWA RWO 4B Celebrates Migrants Workers Day
On 7 June 2026, OWWA RWO 4B, along with its five field offices, celebrated “Migrant Workers Day” in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. The event was part of the month-long “Filipino Migrants Month,” which featured OWWA’s programs and services, both inside and outside the country.

Since Region 4B is made up of the island provinces of Mindoro (Oriental and Occidental), Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan, it’s a good thing that OWWA has established a field office in each province. This way, OFWs and their families in the region can easily apply for social benefits, trainings, welfare assistance, and other types of services.
