Pag-IBIG Approves Special Benefits Package for Repatriated OFWs

APRIL 5, 2026 – The Pag-IBIG Fund has approved a special benefits package for repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), enabling them to access their savings and receive temporary relief on housing loan payments as they recover and rebuild their lives back in the Philippines.

This latest move by Pag-IBIG Fund goes in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to provide essential assistance to OFWs, especially those who are affected by the crisis in the Middle East.

Repatriated OFWs to Receive Special Benefits Package

In line with the directive of President Marcos to address the effects of war on our OFWs, they can now access their Pag-IBIG Fund savings if they need it),” Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling stated in a news release on Sunday, April 5.

Ito po ang ambag ng Pag-IBIG Fund sa hangarin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. para sa whole-of-government approach sa pagtulong sa ating mga bayaning OFWs (This is the response of Pag-IBIG Fund towards the objective of President Marcos for a whole-of-government approach in helping our modern-day heroes),” he added.

Under the special benefits package, qualified OFWs may apply to:

  • Withdraw up to 100% of their Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, including their employee share, employer share, and dividends earned, even before its 20-year maturity;
  • Withdraw up to 100% of their Modified Pag-IBIG II or MP2 Savings, including returns earned, even before its 5-year maturity; or
  • Avail of a 3-month moratorium on Pag-IBIG Housing Loan payments, free from interest and penalties, with the loan term extended by three months.

Secretary Aliling explained: “Through this benefits package, qualified members may access their Pag-IBIG savings and receive temporary relief on housing loan payments, giving them more room to provide for their families and meet urgent needs during this difficult time.”

For her part, Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta affirmed that the agency is ready to deliver the approved special benefits package in a way that is accessible, prompt, and responsive to the needs of OFWs affected by the Middle East crisis.

“We recognize that for this assistance to be truly responsive, it must be made available to qualified members in a manner that is fast, clear, and accessible,” Acosta said. “That is why we will make applications for these benefits available online through Virtual Pag-IBIG, while also ensuring that our more than 200 branches, OFW Centers, and service offices are ready to assist members and their families.”

“In doing so, Pag-IBIG Fund also supports the assistance and reintegration efforts being carried out by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) for affected OFWs,” she added. “Our goal is to make sure that qualified OFW members can turn to Pag-IBIG Fund for immediate and practical support as they recover.”

For more details, watch this PTV News report about the Pag-IBIG Fund’s special benefits package for OFWs:

Notably, Pag-IBIG Fund has 891,427 registered OFW members in the Middle East as of February 2026. This figure includes 40,024 housing loan borrowers and 86,234 MP2 savers, many of which are based in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Pag-IBIG Fund members can access its services at these schedules: Monday to Friday in office-based branches; Tuesday to Saturday in mall-based branches; and 24/7 through its digital platform, Virtual Pag-IBIG.

The Pag-IBIG Fund special benefits package will definitely be a huge help to many OFWs. Still, everyone is urged to be cautious of the information they see online. Last month, there were social media posts claiming that repatriated OFWs would received PHP 150K financial aid; however, OWWA was quick to clarify that these posts were untrue.
