Overseas Filipino Bank (OFBank): Banking Services for OFWs

While the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) provides welfare services for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families, the Overseas Filipino Bank (OFBank) caters to their banking needs.

OFBank is a branchless, digital-only bank that offers banking and financial services to Overseas Filipinos (OFs), OFWs, and their beneficiaries. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK).

Vision, Mission, and Core Values

According to its official website, “by 2028, OFBank shall be the most trusted and leading bank of overseas Filipinos and their families.”

The mission of OFBank is “to provide financial products and services tailored to the requirements of overseas Filipinos and their families, with focus on providing high-quality and efficient foreign remittance services.”

The bank operates on the following core values: Honesty and Integrity, Customer-Centricity, Innovation and Creativity, Organizational Cohesiveness and Unity, and Social Responsibility.

Key Products and Services

The main products of OFBank are savings accounts, loans, and digital banking services.

Savings Accounts

The bank offers three types of debit card savings accounts:

  • OFBank Visa Debit Card. This is a Peso savings account OFs and OFWs, enabling them to send remittances via Visa Direct, through Visa partners abroad.
  • OFBank Visa Debit Card for Beneficiaries. This is a Peso savings account for OFs or OFW beneficiaries who are 18 years old and above.
  • OFBank Regular Debit Card for Beneficiaries. This is a Peso savings account for OFs or OFW  Beneficiaries who are below 18 years old, but at least 7 years of age.

Loans

Among the OFBank’s loan services are the OFW Integration Program and the Bahay para sa Bagong Bayani (3B). The OFW Integration Program provides credit assistance to returning OFWs who are planning to start their own businesses. The program is a tie-up between OWWA and LANDBANK.

Meanwhile, Bahay para sa Bagong Bayani (3B) is a housing loan program designed for OFWs. It aims to help them build or acquire their own house and lot through affordable terms and easy processes from LANDBANK.

Digital Banking

As a digital-only bank, OFBank operates several online platforms, namely: Retail Internet Banking, Alternative Payment Chanel, and OFBank Mobile Banking App.

The bank’s Retail Internet Banking allows users to manage their accounts in a safe, reliable, and convenient way through its Internet Banking Channel. Likewise, the Alternative Payment Channel enables them to pay their bills and other financial obligations through the e-payment facility.

Finally, the OFBank Mobile Banking App provides users with easy access to the bank’s wide variety of services through their smartphones, laptops, and other mobile devices. It offers a free and convenient personal banking experience — anytime, anywhere.
